ABOUT
Where do I begin? I've worked in the graphic design industry my entire career which spans roughly 30 years. Like many newbie designers back in the day, I began my career at a newspaper (remember those?). By year four I was managing a team of five. Since then I've continuously held a creative management position at agencies by one title or another—Design Team Leader, Creative Director, and most recently Art Director. It was years ago at this most recent position that circumstances and good timing showed me what I was meant to do...develop environments. Flat digital graphics were still part of the equation, but I was also finally able to think dimensionally. This was a refreshing change for the engineer inside me. As the project complexity increased over the years, I ultimately built a cross-departmental team to focus solely on the design, production and execution of these projects and we became a big player in the market. This was incredibly satisfying.
So after years of grooming young designers, I finally decided in late 2021 to focus entirely on my craft. I resigned my corporate position of 13 years and became a free agent. I knew it would take more than great design to be successful. I would also need reliable backend support to produce and install components. To achieve this, I subcontract production and installation with trusted regional partners and personally manage the project through install completion.
Looking at my samples, it's no mystery who my largest customer has been in recent years. Every project shown here was 100-percent designed by yours truly. I also engineered everything you see (with some help on the awesome softball light and swimming records boards). Additionally, I wore the Project Manager's hat onsite for all projects shown here. Organize install schedules, on-site install guidance and QC, customer liaison...you name it.
As for my personal life, I married my goofball wife Lynne—a Tennessee-born beauty—27 years ago and transplanted her to rural Wisconsin, my childhood home. We decided to raise our one child, Abby, in the upper midwest and never looked back. I love the outdoors in general...jumping in the boat, snowboarding, and pretty much anything that gets me into the solitude of nature. "Salve for the soul" as someone once said.
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to visit. I hope you are inspired by what you see within these pages and possibly feel I can help you with your facility!
